Advice for New Moms: You Are Allowed to Be Anxious, but You Don't Need to Be Too Anxious

Nov 01,2021

Why is it that a woman is still fine in usual, but her emotions become extremely intense during the pregnancy (delivery) stage? In fact, this is the impact of role change and body change on women. A girl becoming a mother is actually a rather important identity change, which will trigger the anxiety of an individual.

As a mother, anxiety about the child, the family and herself may extend out from this role.

You Are Allowed to Be Anxious, but You Don't Need to Be Too Anxious

I think, this anxious journey begins when you become someone's mom or dad. You may feel out of control and frustrated or ecstatic at any time. But this is also the beginning of learning. It is not about learning from teachers or parenting experts, but about learning from your child who will always tell you what he/she needs through his/her expressions and body language.

The last thing I want to say is that no matter how you raise your children, they will grow up anyway. You are allowed to be anxious, because that means you care about your children. But you don't need to be too anxious. You can choose to believe in yourself, also believe in your children, and enjoy the process of being a mother. You will accompany your children to grow up happily.
